Keeping our Children Safe
Posted by Mr Dutton on March 30, 2017

Keeping our children safe is a top priority – not only safe in school, but also safe online as active young citizens in the digital world. The
Police Community Safety Team has been in school, helping the children understand why they should not to use racist or homophobic name-calling, and working with different classes to help children handle online bullying and internet safety issues. In addition, interactive workshops, led by
Footlights Theatre, took place in all year groups. Our local
Police Community Support Officers have led an assembly on “Stranger Danger”, to reinforce key safety messages.
A reminder of an important event: we are organising an Online Safety Awareness Evening on Thursday 27th April at 7.00pm in the Junior School hall. Does your child use a tablet or smartphone? Does your child ever go online but you are not sure exactly what they are doing? If the answer is yes, do come along – feedback from parents last time was that the CEOPs Ambassador, Leon Pietrzak, was really helpful and offered lots of useful advice.
