Welcome to the Wellfield Junior School Website

At Wellfield Junior School we are extremely proud of our school and have worked hard to create a learning environment in which all our children can thrive. We recognise that partnership between School and home, between teachers and parents is essential if your children are to be given the best opportunities to which they are entitled. Our website aims to provide an overview of what we do, how we do it and the education our children experience. We hope you find it useful and informative.

A DuttonMr Dutton’s Update

We are really pleased to be welcoming back all the children from Monday 8th March! We know how much they have missed being with their friends and being able to learn together in the classroom. Our plans include going back to the staggered start and finish times in place last term, to reduce the numbers of people arriving at school at any one time. All of the children will still receive the same amount of teaching time, and our system of infection prevention and control has been reviewed and the Risk Assessment COVID - March 2021 v7 revisited and shared with staff, parents and governors. Classrooms will be well ventilated, regular hand-washing implemented once again, and the children kept in the separate class bubbles throughout the day. We will use our amazing outdoor space as much as possible each day.

As before, we do request that if your child, or any household member, is unwell with Covid-19 symptoms, that you do not send them into school, but your child and the whole household should self-isolate, and a Covid-19 test should be booked for the unwell person. The whole household should self isolate until the test result comes back, and then if negative, your child can come back to school once well enough. You should not send them back in to school until 48 hours after a high temperature has subsided, even if the test result is negative. Guidance for Parents

Please contact the school office if you have any concerns about your child coming back to school, and we will be happy to have a chat with you and try to answer any questions you may have.

Best wishes,

Antony Dutton
